The award-winning website of the Financial Times (FT.com) is looking for SENIOR PRODUCTION JOURNALISTS for its expanding Manila office who possesses all of the following skills and attributes:
SENIOR PRODUCTION JOURNALISTS
• At least four years experience as a copy editor or reporter for a newspaper, magazine or online media and have the potential to work in a senior editor role;
• Graduate of Journalism, Social Science, Humanities or related course;
• Excellent command of written and spoken English;
• With high level of attention to detail;
• Have an interest in news;
• Must be a fast learner;
• Able to adhere to strict FT editorial standards;
• Able to work on variable shift schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays;
• Able to meet tight production deadlines and work in a fast-paced news environment; and
• Most importantly, he/she must be a team player.
Applicants are reminded that the job is NOT a reportorial job. The Manila team publishes FT newspaper content, such as news and features on their website FT.com. They work closely with the FT offices abroad in maintaining the quality of the website and making sure that the content is up-to-date. The said work includes writing summaries and headlines, hyperlinking and tagging, so basic knowledge in web writing is also necessary. The team also handles content moderation and picture production similar to any other online magazine.
